in 2006,  i and two other officemates [line and ley] vowed that we’d end the year with a bang. well, our kind of bang is to spend the remaining days of december out of our beloved cebu. we figured that since all our lives we spent most of the big celebrations here in good ‘ole cebu, it’s high time that we spend the new year elsewhere.

hmmm, but technically, this year would only be the second time we’ll spend the new year outside cebu. back in 2006, we left cebu noon of december 25 and went back home morning of december 31 to catch the new year and celebrate it with our family. last year, however, was the very first time we greeted the new year away from home. line and i, left cebu on the evening of december 27 and celebrated the new year in hong kong. though, we missed the fireworks over at the victoria harbor, still the experience of greeting the new year in hong kong was a blast.

this year, we won’t be carrying our passports, but we’d be definitely be hopping on a plane. come morning of december 27, i and eight other friends will be flying to the capital. we’d stay in manila for a few hours, head to banaue on the evening. after banaue, we’d hit baguio and be back in manila on the morning of december 31. yep, we’d like to experience how the manila peeps will greet the new year.  surely, they have their own way of greeting the new year. something totally different from how we cebuanos greet it.  i’m crossing my fingers that we could spend it in a hotel and see the beautiful fireworks over at manila bay.

well…two more days to go… can’t wait now…
