my first ever out-of-the-country trip finally happened. yay! naa nay tatak ako passport after nine months of waiting:
tatak Hong Kong - Macau - Hong Kong
line and i met up at around 6:30 pm on dec. 27, 2007 at the waiting shed fronting city grill along mango avenue. line’s father drove us to mactan cebu international airport and we arrived at the airport past 7:30 pm. as soon as we got to the airport, we had our bags checked in and got our boarding pass:
we then paid for the travel tax amounting to PhP 1,620 and
as we had about an hour and half to kill prior to our flight, line and i went to the nearby cafe cesario to grab dinner.
early on, line and i agreed that we would be watchful of our spending so that our pocket money would last ’til we get back to the ph. haha, we were still in the ph and yet we’ve spent a whooping PhP 487.15 for our dinner alone. not that we didn’t try to save. line only ordered american breakfast which consisted of butter and toast, and a glass of juice. she also had an order of french fries. as for me, i only ordered a set meal of pork steak and rice, and a bottle of coke. our meals combined cost PhP399.30 plus 10 percent service charge and 12 percent VAT. [note to self: avoid airport restaurants]
after we had dinner, we visited some of the airport shops so line could buy some OTC medicines. geez, the prices of the tablets were literally off the charts. a single biogesic cost her PhP 15, PhP 25 for bonamine, and some antibiotics. once line was finished with her purchase, we proceeded to immigration counter and went straight to the waiting lounge to wait for our 9:15 flight.
the part i hate. taking off shoes for security check. although, nothing in the pic indicates that i hated it [LOL!!]
off to the cebu pacific waiting lounge

the flight time to hong kong from cebu took about two hours and 35 minutes. after the usual safety procedure demonstration, the cabin crew of cebu pacific initiated a little “bring-me-an-item” game. they had three little prizes at that time. hehe, i won the last of the three by raising the book i was reading.
a little loot from cebu pacific
after two hours and 35 minutes in the air, we finally landed at hong kong’s chek lap kok international airport

there's no special reason for the name except the love of putting my foot in front of the other until i'm breathless. traveling is a new found love for me. though i'm not blessed with beautiful-looking feet, i've gotten the habit of taking photos of my feet every time i set foot on lands outside of my beloved cebu. THANKS FOR VISITING!!! leave me a note or two. send it to vetlongwalks@yahoo.com or drop me a comment here. would love to hear from you!
